Nimbli Terms of Service
Last updated October 27, 2026.
These terms are an agreement between you and URLERT LLC ("Nimbli", "we", "us"), a Texas limited liability company at 5900 Balcones Drive, Suite 100, Austin, Texas 78731, United States, about your use of Nimbli: the website at nimbli.app, the short links at ni.run, the short-link domains teams connect to Nimbli, the QR code maker at qr.nimbli.app, and the Nimbli API and AI-assistant connector (together, "the Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms, our Acceptable Use Policy and our Privacy Policy.
The short version:
- Nimbli has a free plan, and a paid plan, Pro, for people who need more room in their teams. We won't switch off your links for being on the free plan.
- You're responsible for your links and the pages they point to, and you must follow the Acceptable Use Policy.
- We check links for safety and may flag or disable harmful ones.
- We work to keep Nimbli running, but we can't promise it will always be available.
1. The Service
Nimbli lets you make short links and QR codes, change where they go after you've shared or printed them, and see roughly how often they're used. Anyone can use the QR code maker without an account. Making short links needs an account.
The Service has a free plan and a paid plan, Nimbli Pro (see section 8). Nothing you have on the free plan is switched off because a paid plan exists (see section 11).
2. Accounts
- You sign in with Google or with an email address and a password, and you confirm that address. You must be at least 16 years old.
- Keep your password and your email and Google accounts secure; anything done through your Nimbli account is your responsibility. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else is using your account.
- Once your address is confirmed, we create a personal team for you.
- You can connect AI assistants and create API tokens. They act as you, within the team and permissions you give them, and you're responsible for what they do. You can revoke them at any time.
3. Teams
- Links belong to a team, not to a person.
- A team has owners and editors:
- Editors can make, change and delete the team's links.
- Owners can also invite and remove people, change roles, rename the team and delete it.
- Every team has at least one owner.
- Every team has a main owner, an owner whose plan the team uses (section 8). It's the person who created the team, unless they hand the team to another owner, who accepts. The main owner can't leave the team or stop being an owner until they've handed it over. Where Nimbli says "the teams you own", it means the teams you're main owner of. If a main owner can't be reached, or the owner they offer a team to doesn't answer, write to [email protected]: after trying to reach the people involved, we can make another owner of the team its main owner.
- If you invite people to your team, you're responsible for choosing who has access. People you remove lose access to the team's links at once.
- If you leave a team or delete your account, the team's links stay with the team. If you're the only person in a team and delete your account, the team and its links are deleted.
- If you create a team for an organization, you confirm you're allowed to act for it.
4. Your links and content
- What "your content" means: the addresses your links point to, short link names, notes, and anything else you add (your "content").
- Ownership: you keep any rights you have in your content.
- What you allow us to do: you give us permission to store, display and process it as needed to run the Service. This includes redirecting visitors, generating QR codes, and checking destinations for safety.
- Your responsibility: you're responsible for your content and for the pages your links point to. You confirm you have the right to share them and that they follow the Acceptable Use Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. In short: no phishing, malware, scams, spam, illegal content, or hiding where a link really goes.
6. Safety checks and enforcement
To protect the people who click Nimbli links:
- Checking addresses.
- We check every new or changed destination against Google's Web Risk list of unsafe sites.
- We re-check recently used links every day.
- We check each custom domain's name against the same list when it's connected and once a week.
- Some destinations can't be used at all: other link shorteners, private network addresses, Nimbli itself, and sites we have blocked.
- Warnings. A link to a site listed as unsafe, or one we believe is harmful, may be flagged. Visitors then see a warning before they can continue. While a link is flagged, you can't change where it goes.
- Disabling. We may disable a link, after which visitors see "link not found". We may also block an account or a team when it breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or to protect visitors.
- Telling you. We email the team when one of its links is flagged or disabled.
- Reviews. You can ask for a review of any flag or disable. Reviews and abuse reports are first checked by an automated system that uses an AI model. It may add a warning, keep one or pass the question to a person. It removes a warning only when Google's list no longer includes the address; any other warning stays until a person removes it. It never disables links or blocks accounts; a person does that. We aim to answer reviews within one working day.
- Google's list. We don't remove a warning while Google's Web Risk still lists the address. You can ask Google to review its listing.
7. Limits, the API and the AI-assistant connector
- Limits. The Service has limits: for example, a number of links across the teams you're main owner of, people per team, new links a day across those teams in the first week of a free account, and rate limits on creating, changing and reading links. The first three depend on the plan of the team's main owner (section 8). They are shown in the app, on the Pricing page and in the developer documentation, and may change. Don't try to get around them, for example with several accounts.
- API changes. We keep version 1 of the API (
/api/v1) free of changes that break existing callers. If we ever need to, we'll announce it at least 90 days ahead on the developer page, unless we must change it sooner for security or the law. - Restrictions. You may not resell access to the Service, or use it to run a link-shortening service for others, without our written permission.
8. Paid plans
- Nimbli Pro. You can upgrade your account to Pro for more room in the teams you're main owner of: up to 250 links between them, 10 people in each and 2 custom domains for any of them, where the free plan has 25 links between them, 3 people in each and no custom domain. Pro costs US$6 a month or US$60 a year, plus tax where it applies. Stripe may show the price in your local currency. You see the total before you pay.
- Who buys it. You buy and manage Pro for yourself, from your Account page. The subscription is yours, not a team's. It covers each team you're the main owner of (section 3), including teams you create or accept later. A team you're only an owner or editor of uses its main owner's plan.
- Price changes. If we change the price or what Pro includes, it applies from the first renewal that is at least 30 days after we email you.
- Who you pay. You buy Pro through Stripe, the seller of record. Your receipt and bank statement may show it as Link ("Sold through Link"), which is Stripe's checkout, not another company. Stripe charges you, works out and collects the tax, sends receipts and invoices, and answers questions about a payment, under its own terms, which it shows at checkout. URLERT LLC provides and supports Nimbli itself, and these terms apply to your use of it.
- Renewal. A subscription renews by itself at the end of each month or year, at the price in force then, until you cancel.
- Canceling. You can cancel at any time with "Cancel subscription" on your Account page, or from your Link account, or by writing to [email protected]. Pro stays until the end of the period you've paid for, and then your teams go back to the free plan. We don't refund the rest of a period you've already paid for.
- Refunds. If you ask us within 14 days of your first payment for Pro, we refund everything you paid, tax included, and end the subscription, so your teams go back to the free plan. Write to [email protected]. Any right to a refund the law gives you where you live stays. Stripe, as the seller, may also refund a payment under its own terms.
- If a payment fails. Stripe tries the payment method again over about two weeks, and we email you once. Pro stays on meanwhile. If the payment never goes through, your teams go back to the free plan.
- Back to the free plan. When Pro ends, or a team's main owner changes to someone on the free plan, nothing is deleted, every link keeps working and everyone stays in their teams.
- While a main owner's teams hold 25 links or more between them, none of them can add links. While a team has 3 people or more, invitations included, it can't invite anyone.
- We won't switch off a link for being on the free plan.
- A custom domain's links and printed codes keep working as before for 30 days after its team leaves Pro, while new links show ni.run, and we email the team's owners when that starts and a week before it ends. After that, its links show a short Nimbli step before they open, so printed codes still reach their pages, until the team's main owner is on Pro again, an owner removes the domain, or its DNS record goes (section 9). For a domain we have turned off when Pro ends, the 30 days start once we turn it back on.
- Handing a team over. When a team's main owner hands it to another owner who accepts, the team uses the new main owner's plan from then on, and its links and custom domains count toward theirs.
- Leaving and deleting. Leaving a team never changes what you pay. To delete your account while your Pro is active, cancel it first. Once you've canceled you can delete your account, but your teams with nobody else in them and their links stop at once, and we don't refund the rest of the paid period.
9. Custom domains
- What it is. On Pro, a team's owners can connect domains they control, up to 2 across all the teams of the team's main owner, as a name in front of the domain (such as go.yourcafe.com), so the team's short links and QR codes can use it. A bare domain (such as yourcafe.com) can't be connected. Every link of the team also keeps working at ni.run.
- Your domain, your records. You may connect only a domain you control and have the right to use: not someone else's name or mark, and not a name made to look like one. Some names are checked by a person before they can be connected, and we may refuse a name without giving a reason. You keep the domain registered and its DNS record in place, and you answer for your DNS settings, including CAA records that stop a certificate being issued.
- When it stops working. If the record goes, the registration lapses, or a setting at your DNS company or registrar blocks the domain, its addresses stop working until it is put right, and printed QR codes made with it stop too. We email the team's owners when we notice, and after 30 days without the record we disconnect the domain. Until then we keep it connected, so service resumes when you restore the record (at once within the first week; after that, within minutes once a new certificate is issued). We don't control your DNS company, your registrar or the networks between them and us, and we're not responsible for what they do. If a domain lapses or passes to someone else, remove it in your settings: whoever controls a domain's DNS controls where it points, and what its addresses open is up to them.
- Removing. Removing a domain stops its addresses at once, printed QR codes made with it too. The same links keep working at ni.run.
- Our name stays. Nimbli's preview, "link not found" pages and the step after Pro ends show Nimbli's name on a custom domain too, and a link with a warning opens Nimbli's warning on nimbli.app.
- Turning a domain off. We may turn a domain off, without notice when visitors need protecting, if it or its links are used against these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or while we look into a report that a domain uses someone else's name or mark. Its addresses then show a Nimbli page saying the address is turned off (while its DNS record is in place), without naming the team, and we email the team's owners the reason. While it is off, the domain can't be removed, it still counts toward its main owner's 2, and only we can turn it back on: write to [email protected]. If we block a team's only owner, the team's domains are turned off too. Links that aren't disabled keep working at ni.run. We handle reports about a link on a custom domain as we do for any other link: use the report form, or write to [email protected].
- Visitors to your domain. People who open your domain's links are handled as visitors to ni.run are: the same safety checks and warnings, and the same data, as our Privacy Policy says.
- Certificates are public. To serve your domain over HTTPS, a certificate is made for its name, and every certificate is listed in public Certificate Transparency logs that anyone can search. So the domain's name becomes public, as for any website.
10. Click counts
Click counts are estimates. We leave out known bots and link previews, but some automated visits, such as email security scanners, are counted. Don't rely on them for anything where accuracy matters.
11. Our promise
Our promise is part of these terms. In particular:
- We won't switch off links for being on the free plan.
- Printed codes follow any change you make to where a link goes.
- When a link is deleted, its short code and name aren't given to anyone else.
- If we make a big change to Nimbli that affects your links, we'll give you reasonable notice by email and on the site, and you'll be able to download your links.
12. Deleting your account, and ending these terms
- Deleting. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. If your Pro is active, cancel it first; if you're the main owner of a team with other people in it, hand it over first (sections 3 and 8), or, if the owner you offer it to doesn't answer, write to [email protected] (section 3). You can also download your links as a CSV file first.
- Our right to end your access. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or if the law requires it.
- Deleted links.
- When a link is deleted, by you or by us, its short code and short link name aren't given to anyone else. This means printed ni.run codes can't lead to someone else's page. For a team's own domain, see section 9.
- We keep a record of deleted links that were flagged or disabled for one year, for safety reviews. Our Privacy Policy explains what we keep.
13. Availability and changes
- Availability. We work to keep Nimbli running, but we don't promise it will always be available or error-free.
- Changes to the Service. We may change it, for example by adding or removing features, within our promise in section 11.
- Changes to these terms. We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we'll post a notice on the site at least 30 days before they take effect, unless we must change something sooner for security or the law. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the new terms.
14. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Safety checks reduce risk but can't catch every harmful site, and they sometimes flag safe ones. We are not responsible for the content of pages that links point to.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, URLERT LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill.
Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50.
16. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify URLERT LLC against claims by third parties arising from your content, your links and the custom domains you connect, or your breach of these terms, to the extent the law allows.
17. Governing law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
- Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
