Nimbli Privacy Policy

Last updated October 27, 2026.

This policy explains what URLERT LLC ("Nimbli", "we"), a Texas limited liability company at 5900 Balcones Drive, Suite 100, Austin, Texas 78731, United States, collects when you use nimbli.app, ni.run, qr.nimbli.app, the short-link domains teams connect to Nimbli (custom domains, such as go.yourcafe.com), and the Nimbli API and AI-assistant connector. It also covers why we collect it, who we share it with and what you can do about it.

The short version:

  • We collect what we need to run short links for you.
  • We don't sell data and don't use ads or analytics trackers.
  • We don't store the IP address of people who click your links with the click. Our server's access log holds it for up to 14 days, for security (see "Security logs").

1. What we collect

If you have an account

What Details
Account Your name and email address
Password, if you set one Stored in a form we can't read back
Google sign-in, if you use it Your Google account ID and email address, as Google shares them when you sign in, and your name from Google when you first sign in with it (the first part of your email address instead, if Google's name reads like a web address)
Teams The teams you're in and your role; invitations you send, including the invited email address; an offer to make another owner a team's main owner (which team, to whom, and when it lapses), seen by the team's owners and emailed once to the owner it is made to
Your links Destination address, short code, short link name, note, created and changed dates, who made or changed it
A link's QR style, if you save one Its colors and shapes, and its logo, seen by everyone in the team
Activity Who changed what in a team, kept for 90 days
Access API tokens (stored in a form we can't read back), connected AI assistants, when they were last used
Safety records Flags, disables, reviews and reports about your team's links, and the admin log of who did what to a link or an account, and why
Network address hash A keyed hash of the network address an account was made from, used only to apply rate limits
Where you came from When you sign up, we keep with your account the name of the place that sent you to Nimbli, such as an ad, a directory or the website you came from (only the site's name, not the page), to learn which places bring people to Nimbli.
Custom domains, if your team connects one The domain's name, who added it and when, where its own address (/) sends people, whether new links use it, what our checks of its DNS record found, and whether it is working, waiting, ended with Pro or turned off; what Google's list of unsafe sites said of it at our last weekly check, and when; and a history of its changes (found, missing, disconnected, Pro ended, turned off or on) that only Nimbli's admin sees
Pro billing, if you buy it Stripe's reference numbers for the customer and the subscription, whether it is active, failing or ended, monthly or yearly, when the period ends, and a short record of changes (became Pro, a payment failed, canceled). Stripe collects your name, email, billing address and payment details at checkout and we never see or keep your payment details. We send Stripe your email address to fill in its checkout
Your plan and your teams' room Which teams you're main owner of, how many links and custom domains they hold between them, and your plan. The people in a team see its main owner, that person's plan and that count, never their other teams
Hidden hints That you pressed Hide on the line in My links about connecting a custom domain, so it doesn't show again

To redirect the visitor, we receive their request. That includes their IP address, browser (user agent) and the page they came from.

  • What we keep: only counts. A total per link, a count per day for the last 30 days, and the time of the last click. Each click is a row with its day and no visitor details, and is deleted after 31 days.
  • What we don't keep with a click: the visitor's IP address or user agent, or any identifier that could recognize them again, beyond the rate-limit counters below and the security logs.
  • What we use the request for, without storing it:
    • to tell bots from people;
    • to protect the Service.
  • Rate limits. To stop floods we count requests per network address. The count is kept under a keyed hash of the address, not the address itself, for up to a day. The key is stored in the same database, so a hash is not anonymous to us. To keep one person's pace of new links, we also keep a row with their account and the time of each link they make, for up to three days, and delete it with the account. In the first week of a free account, we also keep a row for each new link in the teams it's main owner of, with the team and the time, for up to two days, to apply the first week's limit.

On a team's own domain

A link opened on a team's custom domain is handled exactly as one opened on ni.run. The same request reaches us, through Cloudflare, and we keep only what we keep for ni.run: the name-free counts above and the security logs below. The team sees the counts, not who clicked. The certificate that lets the domain open over HTTPS lists the domain's name in public Certificate Transparency logs, as for any website.

When you use the QR code maker

While you make a code, nothing you type or upload is sent to us. The address, your colors and your logo stay in your browser. The browser remembers your last style on your device, and you can clear it with "Start fresh".

There are two exceptions. If you choose "Make a changeable code", the address you typed is sent to nimbli.app as part of the page's address, to start your short link, so it is in our server's access log for up to 14 days. And when you save a style to one of your team's short links, its colors, shapes and logo are stored with that link, and everyone in the team sees them. The maker says so before it uploads a logo.

We keep your report and, if you give it, your email address so we can reply.

Counts of page opens

We count how often some pages open, such as Pricing, and whether the person was signed in, without knowing who opened them. We keep those counts for 90 days.

Security logs

Our server keeps an access log: for each request, the visitor's IP address, the page asked for (for a short link, its code), the browser and the page they came from. We keep it for up to 14 days and use it to keep the Service secure and to investigate abuse. Our server's error logs can hold an email address when sending an email fails, and they roll over by size, not by time. Cloudflare, which sits in front of Nimbli, keeps its own network logs under its policy, and a visitor's browser may send Cloudflare a network-error report when a connection to Nimbli fails.

2. Why we use it

Purpose Legal basis (for people in the UK and EEA)
Running your account, teams, links and QR codes Performing our contract with you
Checking destinations, and teams' custom domains, against Google's list of unsafe sites, warning visitors, handling reports and reviews Our legitimate interest in protecting visitors and the Service
Counting clicks (as anonymous counts) Our legitimate interest in showing you how your links are used
Security logs and rate limits Our legitimate interest in keeping the Service secure
Counting how often some pages open (counts with no names) Our legitimate interest in knowing whether people find our plans
Emails about invitations, flagged or disabled links, and reviews, and about your account: finishing your sign-up, resetting your password, a payment for Pro that didn't go through, and changes to Pro's price or what it includes; and, to a team's owners, about its custom domains: working, stopped working, disconnected, ending with Pro, showing a step, turned off or on, or listed by Google as unsafe; and, to an owner who is offered a team's main owner place, one email when the offer is made Performing our contract with you
Selling and running Pro: payment, tax, invoices, refunds Performing our contract with you, and our legal obligations
Meeting legal obligations Legal obligation

What we don't do:

  • sell personal data;
  • use it for advertising;
  • build profiles of people who click links.

3. Who we share it with

We use a small number of providers to run Nimbli. Most process data only on our instructions. Stripe is different (see below). The full list, with what each one handles, is in Sub-processors. In short:

  • DigitalOcean: hosting, in the United States.

  • Cloudflare: DNS, network protection, the bot check on forms for people who aren't signed in, and backups; for teams' custom domains, the certificates and the network in front of them (Cloudflare for SaaS). Cloudflare gets each certificate from a public certificate authority it chooses (today SSL.com, sometimes Google Trust Services or Let's Encrypt). The authority sees only the domain's name and publishes it in public Certificate Transparency logs.

  • Google:

    • sign-in, if you choose it;
    • Web Risk, which receives the destination addresses of links when they are created or changed, and daily for recently used links, and the names of teams' custom domains when they are connected and weekly;
    • our support and abuse mailboxes (Google Workspace), where we read what you write to us.
  • Stripe (its checkout and receipts may show Link): sells Pro. It is the seller of record, so it receives your name, email, billing address and payment details and uses them under its own privacy policy, not on our instructions. It tells us whether your subscription is active and when its period ends. If you ask Link to delete your data, Stripe cancels your subscription.

  • Resend: sends our emails, including the sign-in emails.

  • Anthropic: an AI model that helps review abuse reports and review requests. It receives:

    • the link and its destination;
    • the reason it was flagged;
    • the report text;
    • a summary of the team's history;
    • daily totals and averages (links made, clicks, reports), with no names, addresses or destinations, which it uses to write a short note for the admin.

    It never receives data about people who click links.

We may also disclose data:

  • if the law requires it;
  • to protect people from harm;
  • as part of a sale or merger of Nimbli, with this policy continuing to apply.

4. Where data is stored

  • Location: data is stored in the United States.
  • Transfers from the UK and EEA: if you're there, your data is transferred to the US. We rely on the safeguards our providers offer for these transfers, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where a provider is certified under it, Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK addendum.

5. How long we keep it

Data Kept
Account Until you delete your account. Signing up with an email makes no account until you open the link we email you: until then we keep only the address you typed, with its link, for a day
Links Until deleted. A deleted link's short code and name are kept, without the destination, so they're never reused
Saved QR style and logo Until the link is deleted, or a day after you choose "Use the plain code"
Flagged or disabled deleted links 1 year, for safety reviews, with the destination and the team's name
Clicks Each click is a row with its day and no visitor details, kept 31 days. Daily counts: 30 days. Totals and "last clicked" stay with the link
Team activity 90 days. If the person you invited deletes their account, the address you invited moves out of the activity and reads "someone". Names in activity lines, such as who removed whom, stay for those 90 days even after someone deletes their account
Reports and reviews 1 year after they're closed or answered; one still open is kept until it is closed
Safe-browsing check results A link's destination and what the check found: 90 days
Admin log Flags, disables, clears, blocks, answered reviews and main owners set by support, with the reason. Kept for the safety record. We delete entries we no longer need. When a link or a person is deleted, the entry stays without the reference to them
Operator console log Each read by the people who run Nimbli through the operator console: who read, when, and what they asked for, which can include your email address. The AI assistant connected to the console only reads: every read is logged, and it can't change links. 183 days, also after you delete your account
Rate-limit counters Keyed hashes of network addresses. Up to a day. Failed sign-ins in a row are counted per email address and forgotten after a good sign-in, or after 30 days
Network address hash Until the account is deleted
Invitations Kept until they are accepted, declined or revoked, or the team is deleted. An invitation expires 7 days after it is sent and can't be used after that, but its record stays until then
Offers to be a team's main owner Until accepted, declined or taken back, or until the person it's to stops being an owner. One that isn't answered lapses after 7 days and is deleted a day later. A note that the offer was emailed, so the same person isn't emailed twice for the same team in a day: 1 day, then deleted within the next
Security logs The access log: up to 14 days. Error logs: until they roll over by size. Cloudflare keeps its own network logs under its policy
Copies of emails we sent Invitations, notices and sign-in links. Deleted from our database 7 days after we send them, and from backups within 30 days after that
Counts of page opens 90 days
Custom domains While the domain is on the team's list, connected or not. Once it's removed we delete its record at once; the team's activity names it for 90 days; the system that serves custom domains keeps its name and dates for at most 91 days. If we turned a domain off, its name stays on our blocklist while it is off, and after its team is deleted, so it can't be connected again elsewhere. An admin log entry about it (turned off or on) is kept as the admin log is
Pro billing The references and status above: while your account exists. The short record of changes: 90 days. Stripe keeps its own records of payments, as the law requires of it
Hidden hints Until you delete your account
Backups 30 days

6. Your choices and rights

  • Download each team's links as a CSV file, one file for each team you're in, from the Account page.
  • Delete your account from the Account page:
    • In teams where you're the only person, the team and its links are deleted.
    • In other teams, your access ends and the team keeps its links. Where a team's activity names the address you were invited with, it reads "someone" instead.
    • If you're the only owner of a team that has other people in it, or its main owner, you can't delete your account until you make someone else an owner or the main owner. If the other owner doesn't answer, write to [email protected]: after trying to reach them, we can make them the main owner. If your Pro is active, you can't delete your account until you cancel it. The Account page tells you.
  • Correct your name and password on the Account page. Your confirmed email address is how you sign in and how invitations find you, so it can't be changed: to use another, make a new account and invite it to your teams (see Help).

Depending on where you live, you may have other rights:

  • to access, correct, delete or move your data;
  • to object to or restrict how we use it;
  • to complain to your data protection authority.

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We'll answer within 30 days. We don't discriminate against anyone for using their rights.

7. Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, including short-lived ones while you sign in with Google or move to qr.nimbli.app. A sign-in lasts up to 30 days.

  • Cloudflare: it may set a strictly necessary cookie to protect the Service from bots.
  • Forms for people who aren't signed in: Cloudflare Turnstile checks the form, which may involve its own cookie.

We use no advertising or analytics cookies.

8. Children

Nimbli is not for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

9. Organizations using Nimbli

If you use Nimbli for an organization, your organization controls its team's links and notes, and we process them on its behalf under our Data Processing Agreement. On a team's custom domain, we handle visitors' requests for our own purposes (security, abuse and name-free counts), as on ni.run, and the team receives only the counts.

10. Security

We protect data with:

  • encryption in transit (HTTPS);
  • encrypted backups;
  • passwords, tokens and the one-time links we email, stored in a form we can't read back;
  • access limited to the people who run Nimbli. They can read account and link data, including through an AI assistant connected to Nimbli's operator console, which only reads and logs every read (see "How long we keep it").

No service is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we'll tell you as the law requires. To report a security problem, write to [email protected].

11. Changes to this policy

For changes that matter, we'll post a notice on the site at least 30 days before they take effect, unless we must change something sooner for security or the law. The date at the top shows the last update.
