# Why sign in

Nimbli asks you to sign in before you make a short link. Here's why.

## So you can change it later

A link that belongs to you, or your team, is one you can point somewhere new after it's printed. A link made anonymously could never be changed.

## So your links stay trusted

Every link has an owner, and every address is checked against Google's list of unsafe sites, so scam links don't end up next to yours.

## So you choose how to sign in

Use Google, or your email and a password. We confirm your address first, and we don't get your Google password.
