## Got a link from someone?

### How can I see where a link goes before I open it?

Add **+** to the end of the link, as in `ni.run/spring-sale+`, or paste it into "Check a link" on the [report page](/report). You see where it goes without opening it, and looking doesn't count as a click.

### I already opened it, or typed a password. What now?

Close the page. If you typed a password, change it now, and change it anywhere else you use the same one. If you gave a bank or card detail, call your bank. Then [report the link](/report) so we can look at it.

### What does "phishing" mean?

A phishing page is made to look like a real one, such as your bank or a delivery company, to steal your passwords or bank details. Google keeps a list of sites it has seen doing this, and Nimbli checks every link against it. If a link is on it, we stop it before it opens.

### What does "harmful software" mean?

Some pages try to put software on your phone or computer without you knowing. Google lists them, and Nimbli stops those links before they open. Don't open it, and don't download anything it offers.

### The preview says "No problem found yet". Is it safe?

It means Google's list of unsafe sites doesn't have it today. That isn't a promise. If the message that came with the link feels wrong, don't open it, and [tell us](/report).

## Links and QR codes

### How do I change where a link goes?

Change the address on the link's page. Printed QR codes and shared links follow at once, with no reprint.

1. Open the link in [My links](/login?next=%2F).
2. Choose "Change where it goes".
3. Paste the new address and save.

### Can I rename a short link?

Yes. Short link names like `ni.run/spring-sale` are optional. Renaming one stops the old name working, but your QR codes keep working: they use the link's code, such as `ni.run/k3VnP0s`.

### What happens when I delete a link?

It's gone for good. Its short link shows "link not found", and its code and name aren't given to anyone else.

### What happens to a printed QR code?

It keeps opening your short link. Change where the link goes whenever you like and every printed copy follows.

If you delete the link, the code stops working. We don't switch off a link for being on the free plan.

### How do I check where a link goes before opening it?

Add **+** to the end of any ni.run link, as in `ni.run/spring-sale+`, to see where it goes before you open it.

### How are clicks counted?

As estimates. We leave out bots and link previews; some email security scanners still get counted.

**Tip:** use a separate link for the poster and the newsletter to see which one people used.

## Warnings and problems

### Why does a warning show before my link opens?

If someone sent you the link: don't open it. Nimbli has stopped it, and you can just delete the message.

If it is your link: open it in [My links](/login?next=%2F) and choose "Ask for a review". We aim to answer within one working day.

### Why does my link say "link not found"?

The link was deleted or disabled. If you think it's a mistake, write to [support@nimbli.app](mailto:support@nimbli.app).

### A school or office network blocks ni.run. What can I do?

Ask the network's administrator to allow **ni.run**, or share the full address instead. Some web filters block short-link addresses they don't know.

### What does "This page is busy right now" mean?

Too many links were opened from one network address. Wait a little while and try again; it isn't anything you did.

A venue, school or office where many people open links from one network address can reach the limit: about 1,000 opens a minute, or 20 codes that don't exist in a minute, from one address.

## Signing in and your account

### How do I sign in?

With Google, or with your email and a password. A new address is confirmed first: we email a link that works for a day.

Change your name or password on [Account](/account).

### Google or a password: which should I use?

Continue with Google works for Gmail and Google Workspace addresses; with any other address, use a password. Use the same email either way and you get the same account.

### I forgot my password

Choose "Forgot your password?" on the sign-in page and we email you a link.

If you signed up with Google, there's no password to reset: continue with Google.

### It says "We've paused this for a while"

Nimbli pauses some things for a while when they're asked for very often, to stop spam. It may not be anything you did.

- **Emails for a new account or a new password:** one address can get one a minute, five an hour and ten a day. If an email hasn't come, check your spam folder and wait a few minutes: asking again doesn't make it faster.
- **New accounts and password links from one internet connection:** on shared Wi-Fi, at work, at school or on mobile data, other people's tries count too.
- **Wrong passwords:** after several in a row, wait a few minutes, or use Forgot your password.
- **When you're signed in:** new links, invitations and new teams count what you do, and some run by the day.

Most pauses end within an hour, a few the next day. With a Gmail address, Continue with Google isn't paused this way. If it still doesn't work, write to [support@nimbli.app](mailto:support@nimbli.app).

### How do I use a different email address?

Your address can't be changed, so you move to a new account and bring your teams with you.

1. Make a new account at the new address.
2. On the [Team](/login?next=%2F) page, invite it to each of your teams as an owner.
3. Once the new account has joined, delete the old one from [Account](/account).

Delete the old account only after the new one has joined, or a team with only you in it is deleted with its links. Links belong to teams, so they stay. API tokens and assistants belong to a person: make them again.

A team has up to 3 people, invitations included; if it's full, remove someone first. If you can no longer sign in, ask another owner of your team to invite the new address.

### My account is blocked

Write to [support@nimbli.app](mailto:support@nimbli.app) from the email address you signed in with, and tell us what happened. We can send you a copy of your data.

Sign-in says "This account is blocked." when we've stopped an account.

### How do I download my links or delete my account?

Both are on [Account](/account).

**Download your links** under Your data: a CSV file of the team's links.

**Delete your account** under Delete account. Teams with only you are deleted with it.

API tokens are made on the [Developers](/developers) page, once you're signed in.

## Teams

### How do teams work?

Links belong to a team, and a team has up to 3 people, invitations included.

**Owners** invite people by email from the [Team](/login?next=%2F) page, change their roles, remove them and can delete the team. **Editors** make and change the team's links.

An invitation lasts 7 days. You can leave a team from its Team page; if you're its only owner, make someone else owner first.
